Membership
The Norwood Paragon welcomes new members and if you would like to join us we would encourage you to come out and ride with us so you can see what the Paragon has to offer. We have club runs throughout the week of varying length and intensity – further details can be found below.
The club offers advice and coaching for the novice racer and is a keen supporter of the Surrey Cycle Racing League and local TT scene.
Annual membership costs are as follows:
-
Senior Active / 2nd Claim£30
-
Social£15
Please email us on info@norwoodparagon.co.uk for membership details.
We recommend that all senior members join British Cycling (Silver or Gold) or CTC to obtain the benefit of insurance as well. All racing members require at least Silver BC membership in order to hold a racing licence.
Club Runs and Midweek Rides
The Paragon organises regular rides both at the weekend and during the week for training purposes. The program can vary according to the time of year and members’ racing commitments so please contact us for the latest details.
Guests from other clubs / teams and experienced non-aligned riders are welcome but are expected to join the club as first or second claim members after 3 rides.
Ad-hoc rides go out on a Saturday. Riders looking to try a club run are advised to go for a Sunday ride to meet the team.
09.00am at Maison Du Velo 31 Lesbourne Road, Reigate, Surrey RH2 7JS
This is a reasonable pace 3-4hr ride. Gets longer and faster as the season approaches, usually with a cafe stop en route.
Typically 6.30pm at a pub in Holmbury St Mary.
Brisk X-Country MTB night ride in the Surrey Hills with lots of quality singletrack. You will need decent lights for 80% of the year.
Check with Steve Watkins or Dave Mascall as details vary (info@norwoodparagon.co.uk)
- If you have any queries or are interested in joining us on one of these rides for the first time we would ask that you contact us via the Club Run Secretary Duncan Murdoch or Marcus Brueton (both contactable at info@norwoodparagon.co.uk) who help co-ordinate training rides.
